Sunset, Sunrise

Woven in Iceland during my summer residency at the Blonduós Textile Centre, each artwork is a hand woven snapshot of the seascapes and landscapes which surrounded me. 
Hand-spun Icelandic wool weft yarns create a feeling of movement and texture, whilst the intricate woven structures blend to depict images from the dramatic environment. 
A unique capsule collection combining technology, heritage craft and a material connection to place.
This piece was inspired by two photographs of the same building on the banks of the River Blanda. One taken at 1am on May 1st and the second taken at 1am on June 1st when the sun never quite sets and the sheet metal reflects the light.
